Five High End Makeup Products You Need in Your Makeup Bag

We open on a girl who is only mediocre at makeup. Yes, this means that all of these products are good enough that even someone as mediocre as myself can somehow make myself look okay using them, minimal makeup wipes required.

With so much makeup out there, whether it be drugstore or high end, the options can be overwhelming. I don't usually buy drugstore makeup {I have super sensitive skin that has disagreed with a few of my drugstore purchases} I find that it's usually easier to try out a drugstore product when you're only spending a few dollars on it. People {myself included} tend to be more hesitant when purchasing high end makeup because it's much more of an investment.

That's why this list is here!  Here's to no more beauty flops.

1. MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam I
This is my tried and true, must-have, wear all the time lipstick. If you're looking for the perfect deep red, look no further because this is it. It's a beautiful and easy color to transition from day to night.

2. Pür Cosmetics Big Look Mascara
This mascara is one of the best I've found to lengthen. It comes in both regular and waterproof, which is always a plus!  Pür focuses on having a softer cosmetic line, that isn't as

3. Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Heartbreaker
This lipstick is absolutely perfect for anyone who's been wanting to try liquid lipstick, but is too afraid to jump in. Unlike some of the other liquid lipsticks I've tried {ahem, Jeffree Star, I'm looking at you} this lipstick goes on like a liquid lipstick, but doesn't make your lips feel as if you have something plastered or dried on them. No cracking, no "lip cement," it honestly feels pretty similar to a normal cream lipstick. Heartbreaker is a gorgeous red, which is described as "a man-eating red," and is one of Huda's {the creator's}, favorite colors from her 16 shade collection. This liquid lipstick goes on thin, but is one of the most pigmented lipsticks I've seen on the market.

4. Marc Jacobs Le Marc Crème Lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Never would I have ever tried Marc Jacobs Beauty had it not been part of the Sephora birthday gift in 2016. I love Marc Jacobs fragrance, clothing, and handbags, but I've never quite wrapped my head around him doing cosmetics like Chanel or YSL or Dior or any of the other handbag/fragrance/cosmetic crossovers. This lipstick is fantastic. I was so pleasantly surprised by it. I can honestly say that it's creamier than any lipstick I've ever tried {and trust me, I've tried quite a few in my quest for the perfect one}. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a beautiful pink that's subtle enough to be a neutral, but still gives your face a little bit of color, and somehow matches most everything.

5. Buxom Lash Mascara
Here's another product I would've never tried without a Sephora sample first. Sephora included it as an option for their Holiday mini promotion so when I ordered my sister's Christmas gift I just included it because, hey, why not? Prior to trying this, I had heard of Buxom, but hadn't tried a single one of their products. If the rest of their line is anything like this mascara, I'm trying all of them. One swipe and my lashes appeared longer, fuller, and most importantly, clump free. For anyone who remembers my mascara review from last year, clumping is kind of a deal breaker when it comes to mascara. Several coats of this mascara and still no clumps. Buxom, I'm seriously impressed.

6. House of Lashes False Eyelashes
So far, I've only tried the "Bombshell" lashes from House of Lashes but I'm in serious looovvveeee with them. So flattering and so much fun. The band on them is flexible but still on the thicker side. I've reused mine several times now, and they're still in really good condition. Comparatively speaking to other lashes, the price on HOL {ranging from $9-$15} is kind of in the mid-range for lashes, but with House of Lashes being mostly online, it's still good to know that you're ordering quality lashes.

7. Urban Decay Primer Potion
The Urban Decay Primer Potion is definitely a cult-favorite when it comes to the makeup circles. While I used to put my trust in my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, when I tried the Primer Potion it became its instant replacement. What really sets the Primer Potion apart from the Paint Pot is how light it is. The Primer Potion almost feels like something whipped, whereas the Paint Pot is definitely much heavier on the eyelid. That being said, both are great products.

Love and Stay Preppy,
Eva
