Keeping it Short for Spring + Channeling my 90's Britney

  As I recently stated in an Instagram post {@Eva_Phan, for those of you wondering}, most of the time, my style is middle-age soccer mom summering in Nantucket, sometimes I dress like a basic 18 year old, and occasionally I dress like this: some combination of Britney Spears in the "... Baby One More Time" video, a preppy 90's throwback, and Cher from "Clueless."

Sperry 7 Seas Review!

  Sperry has quite the reputation for making and inventing the classic leather boat shoe, so somehow "athletic footwear" just doesn't come to my mind when I hear the brand come up.

  Yet, Sperry just released the 7 Seas, a new waterproof performance shoe that is supposedly their shoe of the summer.

  Skeptical that Sperry could actually make a performance shoe I liked, I gave it a try and...

Dreaming of Summer in Lilly Pulitzer {Replicating the Lilly Pulitzer Parfait Set}

  It's currently 28 degrees Fahrenheit in Minnesota. Yes, really. Yet, here I am trying to wear a two piece set. Typical.

  Despite my refusal to actually "dress for the weather" for once, as soon as I made this set I was in love with it, and knew that I just had to wear it.

 {Side note: I really need to start picking days with better forecasts to shoot. My hair was in perfect loose curls in the morning, really.}

  Here's what happened:

Sephora Caudalie Birthday Gift 2017 Review

Y'all. I'm having my paycheck divided evenly and deposited directly to Lilly Pulitzer, Chanel, and Sephora. Seriously.

 Between liquid lipsticks from Huda Beauty and Ciaté nail polish, it's rare for me to walk out of Sephora without wanting to buy something.

  Even if shopping at Sephora isn't something you'd usually {or ever} do, signing up for Sephora's Beauty Insider program gives you a free makeup gift on your birthday, even if you don't make a purchase {granted that you redeem it in-store}!

  This year, the choice came between a Tarte gift with their Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit and Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty, or a Caudalie skincare gift featuring their Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet and Vinoperfect Serum.

Where I Stand Now - Week of March 5th

  I been informed as of recently that I never update you all as to what's actually happening in my life, so I'm launching this series in an attempt to remedy that. I'll post a little update for you every Wednesday, it'll probably be fun, probably be a little sarcastic, and sometimes a little too ponderous.

  So without further adieu, here's the life of E:

CURRENTLY -  Sitting in the Minneapolis Central Library typing to you all. The stacks at this library are my happy place {because they have Vogue issues dating back to January 1966 and spanning through the present day}. The only thing that could possibly be better is finding an archive/stacks that had every issue of Vogue dating back to 1892-1905.  Until then, I'm perfectly happy with my favorite little study spot in these stacks.

WATCHING - New Girl, obviously. Until this season ends, you better bet that's what I'll be watching every Tuesday/Wednesday. I call it the updated version of "Friends."

WONDERING - What in the world the Dior Fall/Winter '17 show was. Please bring me Raf Simons or Christian Dior himself to fix this situation.

Wearing my Spring Wardrobe in the Cold + My Favorite Spring Wardrobe Hacks!

 Living in one of the coldest of the 50 states in the United States of America, when spring comes around, my wardrobe reaches a state of clothing purgatory.  The thick scarves and warm chunky sweaters? Yeah, those are a little too frigid for the warming weather and spring feeling. The chiffon tops and lace miniskirts? A little too cold for the weather still {although let's be real: I wear mini skirts in the winter and just choose to ignore the cold complain about how cold I am}.

  Yes, the first months of spring become quite confusing. Too cold for a spring wardrobe and too warm for a winter. So instead, I choose to combine them.

How I Learned to be a Teen #GirlBoss + How You Can Too!

The honest truth: starting things is hard.

  It's much easier for us to accept that we're confused, accept it, and move on instead of trying to figure out how we can accomplish it.

  For years, I lived by this mentality. I was happy, I was content, but I wasn't going anywhere.

  Dreaming is easy, but procrastination is easier, lovelies.

  My procrastination tendencies worked really well for me for a while, until one day something changed.
